15cuba-explainer-master675Inside Cuba: Robert Rausch
Monday, April 11, 5:30 pm
Florence-Lauderdale Public Library

Local photographer Robert Rausch visited Cuba mid-December on assignment for The New York Times. Some of the photographs from his visit were featured in the NYT in January; however, those images only illustrated part of the rich culture and experience that Robert captured while in Cuba.
Join us at Florence-Lauderdale Public Library for a photography slideshow and talk from Robert Rausch. See images beyond the few that made it to publication.
Robert Rausch is a Clio award-winning photographer who is the owner and founder of the GAS Design Center in Tuscumbia. In addition to the NYT, his photography can also be seen in Southern Living, Travel & Leisure, Garden and Gun, and Food and Wine. He is also an Adjunct Instructor of Art at the University of North Alabama.

This event is presented by Florence-Lauderdale Public Library in association with Kennedy-Douglass Center for the Arts. For more information, call 256-764-6564, ext. 28.

Book Signing: Simply the Best Spiritual Truths by Renea Simpsondownload
Saturday, April 16, 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm
Florence-Lauderdale Public Library

Local author Renea Simpson will be at FLPL to sell and sign copies of her book Simpsonly the Best Spiritual Truths.
Most people don’t realize spiritual truth as “love in action.” Simpsonly the Best Spiritual Truths are Renea’s written works of love in action from her perspective.
As God’s Word, the Bible is love in action, and so is everyday living. From morning, when our eyes open, until nighttime, when we retire to bed and close our eyes for sleep, we are accountable for all the hours in between. So the question is, in those hours, did our behavior and our words show love, or did they show hate? At the end of the day, only we can give an honest analysis of ourselves, for all is accounted of by God.
For more information on this book signing, call 256-764-6564, ext. 28
