Anthony “Tony” Shepard, 53, of Trinity passed away Friday, September 27, 2019 at UAB. Visitation will be from 6 till 8 p.m. on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at First Apostolic Church (Halsey’s Chapel). The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Thursday, October 3, 2019 at the church with Pastors Freddie A. Shepard, II and Donald Wineinger officiating. Burial will be in East Lawrence Memorial Garden with Lawrence Funeral Home directing.
Tony was a musician who enjoyed playing the bass and the drums. He also liked to hunt and work with his hands.
Survivors include his daughters, Mindy Wood (Jeffrey) and Bethany Morgan (Brett); five grandchildren, Anthony, Braxton, Savannah, Damien, and October; mother, Linda Shepard Allman (Rev. Dennis); brother, Freddie “Chip” Shepard (Karen); and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Anthony was preceded in death by his wife, Paula Shepard; father, Rev. Freddie Shepard and his niece, Courtney Shepard.
Pallbearers will be John Rodgers, Derek Hampton, Brett Morgan, Jeffrey Wood, Tyler Haynes, Devin Hampton, Keith Haynes, and Allen Hutto.
The family extends special thanks to the staff at NHC, Moulton for their loving care of Tony.
