Anthony “Tony” Dale Koontz, age 70, passed away on March 16, 2026, at his daughter’s home from an extended illness. Tony was born on February 8, 1956, to the late Frederick Simon and Eva Ruth Koontz. He was a skilled mechanic who could fix any Chevrolet. Tony was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his parents Tony was preceded in death by wife; Brenda Lee Robert Koontz, son; Anthony Shaun Koontz, brothers; Gerald Koontz, William Koontz.
Tony is survived by his loving family, son; Steven (Brittney) Koontz, daughter; Crystal Koontz Dillon, brother; Timothy Koontz, grandchildren; Jacob (Tiffani) Pollard, Selena (Scotty) Speer, Shante (Ethan) White, Dakota Dillon, Johnathan Dillon, Shellene Boggs, Brent (Micah) Dillon, Shakilla (Samuel) Eagles, Chevy (Kiki) Koontz, Mandy (Braiden) Ervin, Cheyenne Koontz, Dominic Koontz, great-grandchildren; Joby-Ray, Jokoby, Zayden, Journey, Eastynn, Adleigh, Anna, Sammy Jr., Kolton, Gunner, Barron, Ryker, Rabyn, Landon, Sierra, Avery, Charlie, Beckenham, daughter-in-law; Jennifer Martin, girlfriend; Carla Keener, and close friend; Shannon Mooneyham. Several nieces, nephews, and a large extended family also survive.
A Funeral Service for Mr. Anthony Dale Koontz will be held on Friday March 20, 2026, at 2:00pm in the Layne Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Crain Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday March 20, 2026, from 11:00am until the time of service at 2:00pm.
