Antha Mae Hodge Drake, age 92, passed from this life on Sunday February 8, 2026 at the home of her daughter Donna. Antha was a Van Buren County native born on October 22, 1933, to the late Ross and Lena Wyatt Burgess. She was a member of the Spencer Church of Christ and enjoyed attending lunch at the Van Buren County Senior Center daily.

In addition to her parents, Antha was preceded in death by, her husband and father of her children; James Hodge, second husband; Thorson Drake, sons; Danny Hodge, Eddie Hodge, grandson; Ross Hodge; sons-in-law; Danny Boles, Randall Childers; and several brothers and one sister who also preceded her in death.

Antha is survived by her loving family, daughters; Donna Boles, Rachel (Jack) Sutton, Reba (Terry) Denny, brother; Ronnie (Brenda) Burgess, sister; Margie Wyatt, grandchildren; Dewayne (Patty) Hodge, John David (Cassie) Hodge, Jayme (Michael) Thomas, Adrien (Jon) Thomison, Brittany (JW) Bryant, Chelsea (Brady) Orick, Michelle Harvey, Amy (Brandon) Johnson; 17 great grandchildren, daughter-in-law; Margaret Hodge, and step children; Peggy Bayless, Sherry Crain, Wayne Drake, William Morris Drake. Several nieces, nephews, and a large extended family also survive.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Antha will be held on Wednesday February 11, 2026, in the Layne Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00pm with Bro. Elwin Mahan and Bro. R.C. Christian officiating. Burial will follow at Lonewood Cemetery. Visitation time will be held Wednesday February 11, 2026, from 11:00am until the time of service at 2:00.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to Lonewood Cemetery or the Van Buren County Senior Citizen’s Center. Donations can be made at the funeral home.
