THE SHOALS– To all who wish for more Outdoor Recreation opportunities, Alabama Hiking Trail Society (AHTS) comes to the Shoals !
There is a ground foor opportunity to help design & build ALABAMA TRAIL & COLBERT TRAIL.
Come and meet Jeff Hayes, President of AHTS, of Talladega, he operates a Hostel near the Pinhoti Trail that connects to Appalachian Trail.
AHTS operates and/or maintains some 80 miles of Alabama trails; ~ 20 miles in Flagg Mountain area; ~ 60 miles of Perdido area trails near Mobile.
There ia strategic plan for an Alabama Trail from Walls of Jerico in Jackson County to be linked into Shoals and thence to Mobile area. And for Colbert Trail to connect wonderful Colbert heights assets to Natchez Trace on west and to Byler Road on the east via scenic territory.
Remember this day & time; plan to be there : SATURDAY MORNING, OCTOBER 14TH, 9 AM TO NOON +; WE’LL MEET AT WILD-FLOWER GARDEN, TVA TRAIL.
