Annita Kay Hyde Sumners, 68, of Albertville, Alabama, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on January 27, 2025. Born on May 19, 1956, to the late Thomas and Nettie Hyde, Annita dedicated her life to faith, family, and service. She shared her musical talents by playing the organ at Brashers Chapel Church for over 20 years and served as secretary for the Real Life Crisis Pregnancy Center for more than two decades. A devoted member of Beulah Baptist Church, Annita was cherished for her kindness and commitment to helping others.
She is survived by her loving husband, David G. Sumners; sister, Margaret Brooks (Wayne); and brother, Jerry Hyde (Pam); host of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Byron Hyde.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 30, 2025, at Beulah Baptist Church, with Bro. Jimmy Umphrey, Pastor Tony Holcomb, and Jerry Hyde officiating. Visitation will begin at 11:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will follow in the adjoining cemetery. Annita’s legacy of faith and love will be remembered by all who knew her.
