Annie Mae Churchwell, 87, of Corinth, Mississippi passed away on Friday, February 3, 2023 at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Iuka, Mississippi. Ms. Churchwell was born Thursday, December 26,1935 to the late Jack and Lessie Raines Carroll. Annie was a member of Farmington Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Michie High School where she was an outstanding basketball player and continued to be competitive throughout her lifetime. Ms. Churchwell enjoyed watching her favorite television shows Chicago PD and Chicago Fire where they played on repeat inside her home. She was an avid gardener and a master crossword puzzle solver. Annie enjoyed traveling and her passport pages remain full to this day. Ms Churchwell will be missed dearly by her adored miniature dachshund “Charli.”
Ms. Churchwell was preceded into death by her husband James Churchwell; her parents; and a brother O’Neil Carroll.
Ms. Churchwell is survived by her only daughter, Joy Ashcraft; three grandchildren Ben Brewer (Alivia), Tyler Ashcraft, and Anna Ashcraft.
There will be A Celebration of Life Memorial Service held in her honor Saturday, February 11, 2023 with Bro. Warren Jones officiating beginning at one o’clock in the afternoon. There will be a visitation for friends beginning at eleven o’clock in the morning until service time. Memorial Funeral Home and staff are in charge of the arrangements.
