It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Mrs. Annie Louise Frey (Bozeman), known to most as Louise. Born in Arcadia, Louisiana, Louise left us to be with the Lord on the 11th of June 2026 in Huntsville, Alabama. Her passing has left a void that can never be filled. With Louise’s departure, we remember a life lived with immense love, compassion, generosity, and selflessness.
Louise was predeceased by her parents, Bessie and Wesley Bozeman, her brother, Thomas Bozeman, and her sister, Marie “Boots” Johnson. She is survived by her husband, Daniel Ellsworth Frey Jr, whom she married in 1960; her son, Daniel Ellsworth Frey III; daughter-in-law, Stephanie Tillman Frey; and her grandchildren, Kayla LeAnne Frey and Daniel Ellsworth Frey IV.
She found joy in Christmas films, game nights, playing Wheel of Fortune, playing with their cocker spaniel Molly Anne, and gardening. She excelled beyond reason at Chain Reaction, could make anyone laugh with her charming sense of humor, and had an immense talent for turning barren soil into colorful blossoms. Her kind and gentle soul was reflected in the home she built with her husband of 66 years, which she filled with warmth and memories of love, laughter, and overflowing joy.
She will be sorely missed, especially her impromptu singing, late night hot chocolate and cinnamon toast points, retail therapy excursions, McDonald’s drive through date nights, and her ‘candid’ photoshoots. The greatest lesson she shared with us is the importance of family and of showing love to one another.
We say ‘until we meet again’ to the most loving mother, doting grandmother, cherished wife, and most remarkable woman we’ve ever known. As we mourn this loss, we will continue to celebrate her legacy of love, joy, kindness, and generosity that were the very essence of Louise’s spirit.
The funeral will be held at Laughlin Service Funeral home on Wednesday, June 17 with visitation at 1:00 p.m. and funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will include Daniel ‘Danny’ Frey IV, Clark Tillman, David Webb, Daniel Gum, and Brett Derrington. Honorary pallbearers will include Daniel Frey III and Mark Tillman.
Flowers may be sent to Louise’s service in honor of her lifelong love of gardening as a Master Gardener.
