Annie Lou Burns Taylor, 91, of Cherokee, passed away Friday, February 17, 2023. Visitation will be Monday, February 20th, from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. at Allsboro Cumberland Presbyterian Church. The funeral service will immediately follow with Ryan Young officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.
Annie was a native of Maud. She was a caterer, known for her wedding cakes, a beautician, and a retired Cherokee school bus driver. Annie was also a quilter at the Cherokee Senior Citizens Center, and she embroidered many baby quilts.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John G. “Gypsy” and Bessie Waddle Burns; husband, James Taylor and siblings, John Edward Burns, Christine Burns Finch, Thomas Rice Burns, and her twin sister, Betty Burns Adams.
Annie is survived by her children, Bobby Taylor and wife, Juanita of Saraland, AL and Danny Taylor and wife, Jennifer of Clarksville, TN; grandchildren, Tyson and Ken Taylor, Cheryle Beth, Emma, Tad, and Joey Taylor; great-grandson, Miles; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are Kevin Taylor, Ken Taylor, Tyson Taylor, Larry Parker, Luther Bishop, and Kelvin Burns. Honorary Pallbearers are Allsboro Cumberland Presbyterian Church Men, Mary Allesi, and Kathy Yeitz.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Allsboro Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
