Annie LeeMother Annie Lee Shackelford Jackson was born November 8, 1923 in Hillsboro, AL to the late Frank and Letha Ann Shackelford Sr.  She was the first of 14 children.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Samuel Jackson, 3 sisters; Willie Mae, Maxie Ruth and Dollean, 5 brothers; Lawrence, James, Frank Jr., Robert Allen and Carl.

Annie Lee was joined in Holy Matrimony on April 27, 1948 to the late Samuel Jackson and to this union there were 6 children born, Lee Pearl (John) Jackson, Cherokee, AL., Lucille Scales, Decatur, AL., Phyllis (Charlie) Glover, Trinity, AL., Shelby Lewis Jackson, Hillsboro, AL., Dorothy Sue Jackson, Decatur, AL., and Minnie (Alfred) Scales, Madison, AL., 10 grandchildren; John Jr., Angela, Charley Jr., Steven, Arthur Maurice, Colby, Ko Triena, Shelby Lewis, Calvin and Chasiti  and 11 great grandchildren.  She also leaves to cherish her memories, 3 sisters; Rosie Shackelford, Chattanooga, TN., Vera (Freddie) Abernathy, Decatur, AL. and Emma Ruth (Willie) Jones, Decatur, AL., 2 brothers; William (Helen) Shackelford, Chattanooga, TN. and Bobby (Annie) Shackelford, Town Creek.  2 sisters-in-law; Elease Shackelford, Hillsboro, AL. and Betty Shackelford, Decatur, AL. a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.  She truly loved her family and taught her children good spiritual and moral values.  She loved the Lord and she expressed it daily in her loving smile and kind words.

Annie Lee was called to do the Lord’s work at an early age at Bethlehem P.B. Church under the pastorship of the Rev. Robert Lester.  She served on the Mother’s Board and Sister Aide Society and was a member of the Corinth Chapter No. 97 Order of Eastern Star for over 40. years.
