Annie Hurtt Whaley, 92, of Fort Payne, passed away Thursday, January 30, 2025, at her home. She was born in DeKalb County on September 29, 1932 to the late Robert Lee Hurtt, Sr. and Carrie Mae Keith Hurtt.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Wilson Funeral Home of Fort Payne with Rev. David McCarrell officiating. Burial will follow in Walkers Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the 2 p.m. hour of service.
She is survived by her daughters Peggy Wilkie (Randal), Susan Simpson (Larry), Fonda Whaley, Carla Gower; daughter-in-law Martha Whaley; grandchildren Steve Whaley, Sharon Chatfield, Ronda Robertson, Todd Simpson, Misty Moon, Jeremy Simpson, Brandy Dalton, Zac Ross, and Skylor Ross; great-grandchildren Shelby Henderson, Eric Whaley, Amber Samples, Cody Daniel, Wade Robertson, Ben Robertson, Hannah Simpson, Micah Simpson, Lillyanna Robinson, Raegan Harris, Lily Kate Harris, Eleanor Simpson, Haven Simpson, Sarala Simpson, Alex McGlaughn, Ethan Ross, Makayla Ross, and Sophia Ross; and great-great-grandchildren Parker Beam, Remi Henderson, Fisher Chatfield, Ryan McGlaughn, Jasmine McGlaughn, and Belle McGlaughn.
She was preceded in death by her husband Floyd Whaley, son Larry Whaley, and great-grandson Dallas McGlaughn.
Wilson Funeral Home and Crematory of Fort Payne is in charge of arrangements.
