Annie Elizabeth (Libby) Jeffreys, 93, of Decatur, died Friday, April 4, 2025. She passed away at Decatur Morgan Hospital. A private family visitation will be held at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel. It takes place Thursday, April 10, 2025, at 10:30 am.
Libby was born in Washington Co., Virginia, on January 6, 1932. Her parents were Leslie Arnold and Margaret Mumpower Arnold. On March 7, 1950, Libby married Hubert D. Jeffreys. He preceded her in death. For 20 years, she raised their three children: Gale, David, and Bob. During that time, they traveled the world. Hubert proudly served in the United States Navy and Army. Both retired from military service. Libby worked many years as a seamstress. She worked both at home and outside the home. Libby was a member of the VFW and American Legion ladies auxiliary. She served as an officer. She supported US veterans and their families for years.
Libby was also preceded in death by her parents, Leslie and Margaret Arnold. Her brothers, Harold Arnold and W.H. Arnold, also preceded her.
She is survived by her daughter, Rebecca Gale Franz. Her sons, David Wayne Jeffreys and Robert (Bob) Allen Jeffreys, also survive her. Libby is survived by granddaughter Nicole C. Jeffreys. Great-grandson Owen Jeffreys survives her. Great-granddaughter Kinsley Jeffreys also survives her. She is survived by step great-grandson Dominic Colin. Her sister, Roxie Farthing, and brother, Henry Arnold, also survive.
Libby will be missed by family and friends.
