Annie Doris Streit, 81, passed away Thursday, June 8, 2017, at Sanctuary Hospice House. She was born December 17, 1935, to Ben Howardton and Annie J. McCarty Clayton. She graduated from Tupelo High School and attended University of Mississippi through the ICC branch. She retired as an accountant from Delta International after 27 years. Doris spent most of her life taking care of others from a young age. She was very devoted to her church work at All Saints Episcopal Church as a bookkeeper, member of the choir, head of Altar Guild and a volunteer for the “Saint’s Brew.” Doris also served on the Vestry and was a Daughter of the King. She enjoyed growing flowers, working in her yard and always serving others.
Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Earnest Streit of Saltillo; children, Charles David Streit (Karen) of Brandon, Danny Howardton Streit (Melinda) of Nashville, Tennessee and Dedra Jean Streit Rainey (David) of Saltillo; grandchildren, Stephanie Renee Streit of Memphis, Tennessee, Brittany Lynn Streit of Cordova, Tennessee and Savannah Katelyn Streit of Brandon; five step-grandchildren and sister, Dorothy Jean Ferguson (George) of Brandon.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Saturday, June 10, 2017, at All Saints Episcopal Church in the parlor.
Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, June 11, 2017, at All Saints Episcopal Church with Dr. Billy Walton officiating. A private family committal service will be held.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of Daughter’s of the King.
