Funeral services for Annie B. Herrington, age 95 of Ashland, will be held on Monday, April 30, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Benefield Funeral Home in Ashland with Rev. Noel Vickers officiating. Burial will follow in the Clay County Memory Gardens.
Mrs. Herrington passed away Friday, April 27, 2018 at the Clay County Nursing Home. She was a native of Clay County, had lived in New York in 1945 but later returned to Alabama. Mrs. Herrington lived in Talladega and Birmingham then returned to Clay County in 1951. She worked as a seamstress at Higgins Manufacturing for 35 years and had also worked at Russell Mills.
She is survived by one daughter: Nelda Hickman (Charlie); one daughter-in-law, Sandra Herrington, both of Ashland; five grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.
Mrs. Herrington was preceded in death by her parents: John McCain and Lola B. Mezick McCain; her husband, Kenneth Leon Herrington; her son, W. Kenneth Herrington; her great-granddaughter, Kayla Herrington and several brothers and sisters.
Pallbearers will be Richard Burnette, Adam Jones, Matt Hamlin, Matthew Hamlin, Jacob Herrington and Chris Hayes.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 29, 2018 from 5:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Benefield Funeral Home in Ashland.
