Annette Allen, 81, of Middleton Annette Allen, 81, of Middleton

Mrs. Allen passed away Thursday evening, September 26, 2019 at her home. She was the widow of Mr.Thomas E. Allen, who died February 16, 2010.

A native of Hardeman County, where spent most of her life, she also lived several years in McNairy County. She was the daughter of the late Pete and Velvia Wilbanks Baldwin and retired from Western Mental Health Institute in Bolivar following 28 years of service. She married Mr. Allen on July 14, 1956 and was a long-time member of the Oak Grove Independent Methodist Church near Pocahontas, TN.

In her spare time, Mrs. Allen enjoyed quilting, puzzle books and eating at Cracker Barrel. In earlier years, she would can vegetables from her garden and supply those in need with the fruits of her labor. She always put others first and wouldn’t let anyone go without. While at WMHI, she would embroider items to give as presents to the many volunteers who served there. Never one to complain, she loved everyone around her and they, in turn, loved her.

She leaves two daughters, Margie Allen (Tony Harris) and Debra McMahan (Leon Burnette), both of Middleton; a sister, Joyce Kilcrease of Corinth, MS; a brother, Vaden Baldwin (Vicki) of Middleton; three grandchildren, Kelly Ellison (Kip) of Nixa, MO, Cody McMahan (Bryan) of Nashville and Carlee Harris of Middleton; two great-grandchildren, Nick Ellison (Ragan) and MaKayla Grace Ellison, both of Nixa, MO; and one great-grandchild, Emmett Ellison also of Nixa.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Lila Davis; and a brother, Orbin “Bug” Baldwin.

Memorials may be sent to the American Cancer Society [http://www.cancer.org]
