Annabelle Tunks _ Obituary

Annabelle Tunks, age 77, of Cherokee, passed away on Saturday, September 29, 2012. Visitation will be Sunday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Cherokee. The funeral service will be Monday at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Chuck Bradford officiating. The burial will follow at Harris Chapel Cemetery.

Mrs. Tunks was a native of Sweden, Kentucky and was a member of Harris Chapel Baptist Church. She worked for many years as a nursing assistant in three different hospitals. Annabelle was also very active and worked tirelessly assisting the National Park Service where her husband, Henry was employed. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and a great friend to all.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Denny and Annie Ashley; brothers, Doug, Denny, Jr., Charles and Bill; and sisters, Lucy and Georgina.

She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Henry L. Tunks; daughter, Donna Tunks; sons, Eddie Tunks and wife, Kathy and Jeff Tunks and wife, Karyn; brothers, Frank Ashley and Ken Ashley and wife Katie; sister Penny Elmore and husband, Ernie; brother-in-law, Joe Ed Lindsey; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Friends and neighbors will serve as pallbearers.
