Anna Ruth HamAnna Ruth Ham passed away July 13, 2023 at Crestwood Hospital.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Ronald Frank Ham. They were married June 6, 1969.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James (Jim) McLemore and Agnes Blair McLemore; and her brother, James Carol McLemore.

Anna was a native of Huntsville and Madison County. After graduation from High School Anna went to work at Army Missile Command as a Budget Analysis. She Retired in 1989. She was a Champion Bowler for many years. After retiring she taught Line Dancing at the Senior Center, volunteered with Meals on Wheels, and Crestwood Hospital Senior Friends.

Anna and her husband Ron are responsible for building and putting up hundreds of bluebird houses around Madison County bringing the bluebirds and purple martins back to Madison County. They received the W. Kelly Mosley Environmental Award and a Treasure Forest plaque from the Alabama Forestry Planning Commission. Because of their work the bluebird and purple martin population increased 1,607 in seven years. They raised a huge vegetable garden every summer and gave most of it away.

Anna will be missed by her community, friends, and family.

In lieu of flowers send donations to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Huntsville Senior Center.
