Anna Paula was born on July 23, 1931 to Barney & Myra Shivers in Tatum, Texas. Her family moved to Houston, Texas when she was young and it was in Houston that she graduated high school. After high school, she went on to make many memories throughout her four years at University of Houston. Go Cougars! It was there that she fulfilled her dream o becoming a teacher and it is also where she met and married her husband, Joe H. Wootton. Throughout their 19 years of marriage they raised four children – Robert Henry, JoAnna, Jane Marie & Thomas Shivers.

Mom loved her years teaching 1000’s of students, especially her years in special education. She had a gift for those kids. Mom was creative, she loved painting, she loved roses and lions, treasured time with friends and family. In 1977, Anna Paula married Bob Casey and they enjoyed many years together until his passing. It was then that she made her way to Alabama, being close to her youngest son, Thomas. Mom made lots of friends wherever she landed, her bright shining eyes and sweet smile blessed many throughout all her years.

Last Sunday, her last day of responsiveness, was spent with her family, reading the Bible, singing songs (Jesus loves me) and eating chocolate pudding. God is so good. We love you mom… Until we meet again
