Anna Jane Jackson – Obituary

annaAnna Jane Jackson, 78, Muscle Shoals, celebrated her heavenly homecoming on Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at home surrounded by her loving family.

Born Saturday, April 25, 1936 to Hoile and Edna Shields in Paragould, Arkansas, she married Sidney Jackson on December 20, 1951. Jane and her honey of more than 62 years began their life together in Illinois before moving to Michigan. Jane and Sidney moved to Alabama in 1986 following her retirement from General Motors after 30 years of service.

Early in life she gave her heart to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and remained faithful serving God in many capacities. Her service included: Sunday School teacher, youth music coach, music director, organist, choir member, and cheerleader for Pastor Shiloh Hackett.

Her love for her family was only surpassed by her love for God. Surviving are daughters Jarita Venable, Cindy Ledford, and Judy (Randy) Tucker; grandchildren Josh Venable, Justin (Jamie-Lee) Venable, and Cameron Jackson; great granddaughter Reagan Sidney Venable. She was privileged to inherit grandson Greg (Stephanie) Tucker and his children Caden, Levi and Skyla. Special family Henry and Sharon Heredia, Sherry Forrest, Jerry (Raymond) Saltzman and the members of South Highland Free Will Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney; mother, Edna; and father, Hoile.

The visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 12, 2014 at South Highland Freewill Baptist Church, Muscle Shoals. The funeral will be at 12:00 noon on Friday, June 13, 2014 at South Highland Freewill Baptist Church, with Bro. Shiloh Hackett officiating. Burial will follow at Franklin Memory Gardens.

The family also wishes to thank the physicians and staff of North Alabama Cancer Center, Muscle Shoals and Hospice of North Alabama. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to South Highland Free Will Baptist Church, 704 State Street, Muscle Shoals, AL 35661. Spry Memorial Chapel assisted the family.
