SHEFFIELD – As the show was moving into the final stages before ‘curtain time’.  A young woman found Sgt. Ray Terry of the Sheffield Police Department and asked him to speak with her for a second… “I’m Anna McVay,” she said, “and I would like to ask you a favor.” Ray was a busy guy, but took a moment. She continued, “When I was a little girl, back in 1984 I had my picture taken with the Oak Ridge Boys,” she had the photo on her phone. “Do you think that I could get another one taken tonight?”

Needless to say, Sgt. Terry found David Johnson, told him about the request, and the two made her request a reality.

Here is her story as she told it to the Quad-Cities Daily:

I was too little to realize at the time just who these very nice people were. But as I grew up, I learned about the encounter with the Oak Ridge Boys.  This picture was taken in 1984 in front of Muscle Shoals Sound when it was at River Front Park. I have always treasured the first picture and have always dreamed of meeting them again one day. I was the photographer at my best friends wedding on Saturday, May 24. Her reception was in the basement at park place. We got to talking to one of the police officers, Ray Terry, and I had mentioned how cool it would be, 30 years later, to have my picture taken with the Oak Ridge Boys again. I showed him the old picture and he was just amazed. He went and talked to some people and made something happen and now…….. I have a new picture with the Oak Ridge Boys!”
