Ann Williams Gist Hillis Born July 1, 1949 Died July 21, 2012 On Saturday, July 21, 2012, the Lord called forward the name of the most caring loving wife , mother ,daughter ,sister and grandmother that a grateful family could ever hope to have. Ann took care of everybody in every way and her family`s love is a testament to that caring embrace. She is preceded in death by her grandmother and grandfather Horace and Annie Mae Thompson,her father in laws Jimmy Hillis and D.C. Gist, first husband Danny Gist, father Arnold Liles,and brother David Liles. Surviving to cherish her memory are loving husband of 40 years, Mike Hillis,daughters Melissa Lyle and husband John, Brianna Maharrey and husband Trey, son, Jamie and wife Rachel, mother in law`s Pauline Hillis, Dorothy Gist and mother Eloise Tidwell, sister Carol Ann Liles and brother Neil Liles. Brothers and sister in law’s Preston and Kaye Hillis, Mike and Frances Moore and Jerre and Linda Gist. Also left to miss their G terribly are the three most precious lights of her life, granddaughter Anna Lyle and little Cooper and Parker Maharrey. They will miss her so much. Also left behind to celebrate her life will be all her Special friends that she cared for at Wellington Place. These people made her excited to go see them every morning. No amount of grief can possibly replace the love that we all shared for our beloved “Mom”. Heaven is surely a better place. A loving and final farewell from Mike for sticking with me through thick and thin in hard times and good and loving me more than anyone could expect. Goodbye baby. Honorary pallbearers will be Tim May and all the residents and staff of Wellington Place who made the last year of her life one filled with joy. Pallbearers will be Richard James, John Lee, Preston Hillis, Mike Moore, Joe Peden, and Robbie Hillis. The family will receive friends Monday, July 23, 2012, from 6-8PM at Elkins Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 24, 2012, 10 AM at Elkins Funeral Home Chapel, with Jason Moore officiating, and burial will follow at Greenview Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association or the Alzheimer’s Association.
