Ann Louise Witkowsky Murphy, age 88, of Florence, Alabama, formerly of Branford, CT, passed away at home on August 14, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Ann was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John (Jack) Murphy; parents, Peter and Harriet Witkowsky; brother, John (Jake) Witkowsky, and several special cousins.
She is survived by her devoted children, Susan Murphy Glasso (James) and Peter John Murphy; grandsons, Alexander and Tyler Murphy, all Florence, Alabama; her loving niece, Diane Theroux (Dan); nephews, John Witkowsky (Tiffanie), Scott Witkowsky (Beth), and many cousins.
After moving to Alabama, she became a member of First Christian Church in Florence and deeply loved her church family. She was an avid UCONN Women’s basketball fan, loved to cook and bake and share with neighbors and friends. She especially enjoyed her weekly Hah Jongg group and spending time with her family. No service is scheduled at this time.
The family wants to thank the many people who loved and supported her in these last few months. We are eternally grateful to the staff at Gentiva Hospice, especially Jeff, Renea, and Garry.
