Ann Carol Winters Ann Carol Winters, 87, passed away at NHC Healthcare, Columbia, in the early hours on April 11, 2020.

Ann was born on August 10, 1932, in Nashville, TN, to her late parents J.K. and Hilda Harrison Winters. She is also preceded in death by her brother Kellis Waymon Winters and two nephews: Rick Winters and Greg Winters. Carol, as she was more often referred, owned a dry cleaner called New Look in Melrose for many years. She graduated with her Master’s Degree in Journalism from The University of Tennessee and would go on spending time pursuing her passion as an artist and writer. Carol wrote poetry and even had some of her work published in a book entitled “Midnight Oil.” Carol loved conversation, the fine arts, and writing. She was a member of a monthly writing group that met here in Columbia. Carol loved sharing with friends and fellow writers. She served for a time as the editor of The Methodist Publishing House.

A graveside service in Carol’s honor will be held on Thursday, April 16th, at 11:00 am at Woodlawn Cemetery in Nashville, TN.

Carol is survived by her two nephews: Scott Winters of Summertown, TN and Stephen Winters of Butler, Alabama. She is also survived by many great-nieces and nephews.
