Mrs. Anitra Angelena Foster-Jones Mrs. Anitra Angelena Foster-Jones, was born in Triana, Alabama on September 17, 1953, the first of five children born to the late Clyde Foster and Dorothy Harris Foster. She entered into eternal rest on April 7, 2024 at her home, surrounded by her family. She was preceded in death by her brother whom she dearly loved and admired Byron Clyde Foster.

Anitra confessed her life to Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at an early age at Triana Cumberland Presbyterian Church in America. She loved and kept Jesus Christ close to her heart. She was an avid reader and enjoyed discussing and studying the word of God. She learned many parables and scriptures that she would often recite with other believers daily. She enjoyed communicating her testimonies with the elders who imparted wisdom and other neighbors.

As a parishioner at Triana CPCA, Sunday school lessons were organized and taught to children by Anitra and Agrippa Sherill (a church member and lifelong friend). Most of the youth who attended Sunday morning services under her instruction remember those times and still talk about its impact on them today.

Because she loved children, many times Anitra would coordinate field trips with her Sunday school class and numerous community youth from Triana, Alabama. Many times, she spent gathering children together to have fun and go on day trips to Brahan Spring Park, museums, amusement parks, the natatorium and ShowBiz pizza place for entertainment. She believed in children enjoying their childhood.

Anitra attained her education in the Madison County school system. Her early education was at West Madison Elementary and Saint Joseph’s Catholic School. She continued her education at S.R. Butler High School, was selected as an A.K.A. Debutante in the spring of her senior year and graduated high school in May of 1971. She pursued higher learning in the Fall of 1971 while attending Alabama A&M University. As a sophomore on the “Hill” she began to pursue her education goals in Special Education. Just three years later, in December of 1974 Anitra received her Bachelor’s of Science in Speech Pathology. Her educational interest, manifested itself consistently throughout her lifetime with genuine acts of service. She would pitch in whether it was within the community, outside the community, with her loved ones, with other families, individual people and charitable organizations alike. She was a regular volunteer at Huntsville Hospital for years.

Anitra has been remembered as a quiet soul. It took a special kind of person to help her blossom. In 1973, she married Billy Jones! Unto this union two children were born. Anitra was absolutely embraced her with an infinite love. She was preceded in death by both her mother and father-in-law the late Mr. and Mrs. Fate Jones, Sr.

Anitra worked with her father’s business at Triana Industries and Prep-Tech, Inc. during her employment until retirement. She was a very intellectual person. She learned the operating system of the computer and she mastered an accounting software without the assistance from anyone.

In a lifetime, she felt it was her duty to share and give. She gave unselfishly. Anitra often brought cheer to the lives she touched, constantly. This will be sorely missed.

Anitra will be remembered and missed dearly by her immediate family, relatives and friends. Each immediate family member loved Anitra in their “OWN SPECIAL WAY, SHE WAS SPECIAL TO US!” Later in life, being blessed with descendants of herself she immensely enjoyed spending time her “little crew.” Anitra’s great grandchildren and great niece and nephews will miss the extracurricular activities, sweets, treats, and gifts she bought for them during the holidays or just because.
