Anita Sylvia Jean Verble, of Huntsville, 84, passed to Heaven on March 3, 2018. Anita was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, and mother to her family. She enjoyed her church family at Lakewood Presbyterian Church and First Presbyterian Church, and the Huntsville community at large. A life-long resident of Huntsville she loved to share her knowledge of Old Huntsville history. A 1951 graduate of Huntsville High School she continued to meet with her dear friends and classmates each month. She was the first runner up of the first Madison County Maid of Cotton pageant. She served as a lifeguard for Huntsville City Pool. She loved Sunnyside Beach, Florida, and spending time with her family there. Her longtime farm residence in eastern Madison County brought her much joy to view the beauty of Monte Sano Mountain and surrounding area. She was a loving friend to so many and will be deeply missed by her family.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Adas James (Jim) Verble, Jr.; her mother and father, Kathleen Neely Jean and Royal Randolph Jean; and her dear brother, Robert Royal Jean.
She is survived by her 6 children, Valerie Verble Adams and her husband, Curtis, Teresa Verble, Adas J. (Jimbo) Verble, III, and his wife, Sharon, Thomas (Tommy) Verble and his wife, Emily, Keith Verble and his wife, Leigh, Kevin Verble and his wife, Kerri; her 8 grandchildren, Daniel Adams and his wife, Katie, Kathleen Adams, Steven Verble, Josh Verble and his wife, Lauren, Kelsie Verble, Samuel Verble, Keegan Verble and Anna Verble; and her 2 great-grandchildren, Huck Adams and Lula Adams.
Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Monday at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home chapel with Rev. Joe Tallyn officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
