Anita Marie Johnson, 72, formerly of Phil Campbell, passed away Sunday, June 19, 2016, in Raleigh, North Carolina.
She was a native of Hialeigh, Florida, but had lived in Alabama, Louisiana, Spain, Texas, and North Carolina. She was a longtime resident of Wichita Falls, Texas where she worked as an insurance clerk for 20 years. While living in Phil Campbell, she was a member of Gravel Hill Baptist Church and worked at BB&T before retiring.
Her dear friends say of her, “She loved her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids to a fault.” They also say, “She was the most loyal friend anyone could ask for.”
She was a strong, faithful, and truly beautiful woman. She loved the Lord, her family, her country, and her Miami Hurricanes.
Graveside services will be Sunday, June 26, 2016, 3 p.m., at Shady Grove Cemetery in Phil Campbell with Adam Pharr officiating. Burial will follow immediately after the service.
Survivors include children, Armond Lee Johnson, Kenneth Paul Johnson, Christine Lewis, and Michael Shane Johnson; brothers, Leonard Eugene Weems and Houston Clyde Weems; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; cousins, Shelby Dean Strickland and Doug House; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by parents, Clyde Henry and Veatries Maybelle Weems; brothers, Wendell Keith Weems and Kenneth Weems; and sister, Eva Angelita Amey.
Pinkard Funeral Home, Russellville, will be directing.
