Ms. Anita Lee Edwards, age 86, resident of Mt. Pleasant Health and Rehabilitation Center, passed away on Friday, April 5, 2024, at Maury Regional Medical Center.
A homegoing celebration will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at 12:00pm at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church with mistress of ceremonies, Minister Carletta Webster and Rev. Donald Webster officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. A lie in state will be held on Friday, April 12th from 3:00 -5:00pm at Heritage Funeral Home, and again on Saturday from 11:00am until the 12:00pm service at the church. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Ms. Edwards was born April 18, 1937, and was one of twelve children to the late William Finis Edwards and the late Laura Bell Edwards. She was a faithful member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church and attended regularly until her health failed. She enjoyed working with her flowers and being the Avon lady. She also enjoyed reading and talking about the Bible.
She is survived by her niece, Mary Ann (Howard) Davis of Columbia and numerous other nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Hubert Edwards, Luther Edwards, Robert Edwards, Thomas Edwards, Hastin Edwards, Charles Clifford Edwards, Laurine Edwards, and Rebecca Edwards Spencer.
Pallbearers will be her nephews and friends. Her nieces will serve as flower girls.
