Anita Hay Wheat, age 91, of Lewisburg, Tennessee, passed way Monday, April 21, 2025, at NHC Lewisburg.
Anita was born February 4, 1934, in Lewisburg, Tennessee, to the late Walter and Brownie Allen Hay. Prior to retirement, she served as the Jail Administrator for the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department. She was an active member of Church Street Church of Christ and a devoted Christian. She loved spending time with her family and cooking special meals to share with them.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Wheat in 2000; daughter Kathey Dilbeck (Dennis); son Victor Wheat; sister Margaret Tyree (Paul); two brothers, Edwin Hay (Julene) and Owen Hay.
She is survived by three granddaughters, Jenna Miller (Chris) of Lewisburg, Jessie Tietgens of Cornersville and Celia Dilbeck of California; one grandson Eric Dilbeck of Alabama; ten great grandchildren; special niece, Jackie Abernathy of Lewisburg; good friends, Judy Allen Harper and Sherial Wiser.
Graveside Service arrangements are incomplete at this time and will be announced when available.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Church Street Church of Christ.
