TUPELO, MS – The Natchez Trace Parkway invites children and their families to “Animal Masquerade,” a special Junior Ranger program at the Parkway Visitor Center. The event is at 10:00 am on Saturday, June 3, 2017. Join a park ranger for this 45-minute program to discover how animals along the Parkway depend on each other for survival. Participants will create a mask of their favorite animal. This free hands-on program is ideal for children seven to 12 years old, but everyone is welcome.
The North Mississippi Dulcimer Association will also play dulcimer music from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm. The Appalachian mountain dulcimer is the first instrument developed in the United States dating back to the 1800s. Come listen to the soft sweet sounds of the dulcimer and learn about its extensive history.
