Funeral for Amy McCutcheon McGowan, 41, of Hartselle will be Sunday, July 3, 2016 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Wren. Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. followed by the service at 3 p.m. Burial will be in Hartselle Memory Gardens with Peck Funeral Home directing.

Amy passed away Thursday, June 30, 2016, at Decatur Morgan Hospital, Amy was born April 25, 1975 in Hartselle to Willard and Francis McCutcheon. She was preceded in death by her mother, Francis McCutcheon; and her brother, Allan McCutcheon.

Amy attended Sparkman School and Falkville High School. She attended Calhoun Community College and Wallace State University in Hanceville. Amy was employed at NASA since 1994 as a Management Support Assistant for the Flight Mechanics and Analysis Division in building 4600. She was also a member of the “American Federation of Government Employees.”

Amy married Brandon McGowan on Sept. 20, 1997. She was a kind and wonderful Christian. She kept her prayer book close even in the hospital.

Amy and Brandon attended Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Wren. They were involved in the deaf ministry there. Amy enjoyed the Christmas holidays and decorating her home. She was an avid Auburn fan. Amy loved children, especially her nieces and nephews.

Amy is survived by her husband, Brandon McGowan; her father, Willard McCutcheon and sister, Christie Fortenberry of Hartselle and many other family members.

Pallbearers will be Tyler Grantland, Lane Grantland, Tyler Fortenberry, Jason McCutcheon, David Grantland, cousins, Joseph, Patrick and Jeremy.
