Amy Joanne Gardner McDaniel, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on July 30, 2024, in her hometown of Jackson, TN. She was born on April 13, 1957, in Jackson, TN, to the late Gid and Dot Lassiter Wray.
Amy’s early education was at Jackson Central-Merry high school before went on to attend State Community College for a couple of years. Her career as mortgage broker was not just a job, it was a passion. She was self-employed and collaborated with several banks over the years, earning the respect and admiration of her colleagues and clients.
Her true legacy lies in the love and devotion she shared with her family. She often expressed that her proudest accomplishments were her family members – her husband, sons, and grandchildren. Her love knew no bounds, and her home was always filled with warmth and laughter.
In addition to her dedication to her work and family, Amy found joy in simple pleasures. She had a deep appreciation for music. She loved music of all varieties. True crime TV shows like Law and Order captivated her, while her collection of elephants reflected her gentle spirit. Amy had a special affinity for animals, with a soft spot for cats. She even leaves behind her own precious feline companion.
Those who were fortunate enough to know Amy remember her as a ray of light in their lives. Her infectious laughter and kind heart made every moment spent with her a cherished memory. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband, Richard “Richy” McDaniel; devoted sons, Charles Gardner (Ashley) and Michael Gardner (Allie); and sweet grandchildren, Kaylie Harris, Olivia Claire Gardner, and Aaiden Gardner.
Aside from her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Sonny Wray.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on August 5, 2024, at Arrington Funeral Directors and Crematory in Jackson, TN. The service will begin at 10:00 AM to honor and remember the beautiful life of Amy Joanne Gardner McDaniel. The burial will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery.
Though she may have left this world physically, her spirit lives on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in peace knowing that she was loved beyond measure.
