Alvin Ray Bowen, Sr. passed away unexpectedly July 26, 2020. Alvin was a firecracker. He loved life, his family and his friends. Alvin was happy, energetic, funny and would give anyone in need the shirt off of his back. He was a particularly great dancer always using his signature “jiggle and dip” moves. Alvin enjoyed Harley Davidson motorcycles, watching Dale Earnhardt race and Alabama Football. He also enjoyed fishing and many genres of music. His warm smile and sweet personality will be missed by all who loved him. Alvin is preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Earleen Bowen. He is survived by his son, Alvin Ray Bowen, Jr. (Michelle); daughter, Marissa Ann Ross; brothers; Larry Joe Bowen, Donald Lee Bowen (Shannon), Arthur Earl Bowen (Denise); sisters Lisa Marie Young and Teresa Ann Moran; 5 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild as well as 1 due in September and his fiancé, Melanie McCombs. Services will be held at New Horizon Memorial Funeral Home, Friday, July 31, 2020. The family will receive guests from 10-11am. Funeral service beginning at 11am with burial following in New Horizon Memorial Gardens. Rev. Tim Blackmon officiating.
