Alvin Paris Lay, age 87, of Lawrenceburg, TN passed away Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at his residence. He was a native of Wayne County, TN, teacher, and retired restaurant and motel owner.
He was preceded in death by his parents, David Paris and Mary Ann McGee Lay; his wife, Betty McLain Lay; and his siblings, Olen Lay, Wilton Stockard, Bertha Lynn, Mary Gobbell, Louise Ray, and Annais Lay.

Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, December 26, 2014 at Neal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 11:00 AM Saturday, December 27, 2014, with Gary Hughes officiating. Interment will follow at Lawrence County Memorial Gardens in Lawrenceburg, TN. Family suggests memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
