Alvin Joseph Stolpa, age 85 of Arab Alabama, died Wednesday June 28, 2016 at Hanceville Nursing Home and Rehab in Hanceville, Alabama.
He was born on July 23, 1930 in Detroit Michigan to John Stolpa and Otillia Stakiwich Stolpa. Mr. Stolpa served in the U.S. Navy and worked as an engineer for Ford Motor Company. He was married to Joyce Marie Merritt Stolpa for 58 years. He moved to the Arab area in 2004 from North Carolina.
Mr. Stolpa was of the Catholic Faith and a member of Saint Benedict Catholic Church in Lacey’s Spring, Alabama.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Joyce Stolpa; son and daughter-in-law: Eric Martin Stolpa and Susan; brother-in-law and sister-in-law: William Merritt and Sharon; sister –in-law: CarolAnn Bogater.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday July 5, 2016 at Saint Benedict Catholic Church in Lacey’s Spring, Alabama with Father Oswalt officiating. Burial will be in Arab Memorial Cemetery, Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, directing.
Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. prior to the service.
