Alvin D. Wallace age 76 of Athens, passed away on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at his residence. Mr. Wallace was born September 5, 1937 in Marshall County, TN to Josiah Wallace and Jenny Lee Slaughter Wallace.
Services for Mr. Wallace are Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 14, 2014 from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Limestone Memorial Gardens with Tim Haney, Chuck Hood and J.W. Wallace officiating.
He was a contractor in Limestone County for 30 years. He also was a wrestling promoter in the Tennessee Valley for over 35 years.
He is survived by his wife, Ollie Mae Wallace; daughters, Debbie Dison and husband Bobby, Reba Gail Farley and husband Thomas, Teresa Wallace, and Lequita Smith and husband Anthony; grandchildren, Kelly Jernigan, Elizabeth Dison, Callista Motter and husband Kevin, Greg Farley, Ava Grace Smith and Bryler Keith Wallace; great-grandchildren, Dusty Green, Prestina Ham, Audrey Jernigan and “Lil” Alvin Farley; brothers and sisters, Jessie Wallace, Henry “Austin” Wallace, J.W. Wallace, Larry Wallace, Oma Cross and Sue Stoltz.
He is preceded in death by his parents, J.P. Wallace and Jenny Wallace; son, Keith “Bubba” Wallace; Grandchildren, The Smith Triplets; brothers, James Harold Wallace, Bobby Wayne Wallace; half-brothers and sisters, J.P. Wallace, Andrew Wallace, William Wallace, Mae Crowell, Sara Anderson and Lorene Hargrove.
Pallbearers are Kevin Motter, Dennis Wallace, Michael Rouse, Danny Wallace, Charles Evans and Wade Evans.
