Alton Jason May Alton Jason May (November 18th, 1975 – September 1st, 2026) left his earthly home to be at rest. The Family will hold Celebration of Life services at a later date.

Jason possessed an unyielding, courageous spirit during his time on Earth. Even though he suffered through numerous health battles; he never let it dampen his spirit. He would be prepared to fight the good fight each time. He never showed fear in the face of any challenge. Instead, he knew he would win the battle each time. We should all take a page from his book.

His greatest joy was found in his sons, Quinton and Garrett. He could be found cheering the boys on at sporting events or sitting around on the porch with them talking about life. It didn’t matter what they were doing as long as they were together. If his boys needed anything, he was going to get it for them; no matter what. He would go to the ends of the earth and back for them. He encouraged and supported them in only the way a loving father would. The three May boys shared an unbreakable bond. His eyes would beam with pride; whenever he spoke about his boys. They were his heart and soul.

Jason had a gift for story telling. He could spin a yarn that would have everyone in stitches. You never knew how much was true or how much he had embellished, but you were along for the ride! He would transfix his audience. If Jason was talking, you were listening. He loved to laugh and have a good time with friends and family. He never wanted anyone to be mopey. He felt that there was always a brighter day ahead and a laugh to be had, so every moment needed to be enjoyed.

While Jason loved life, football, the ladies, and laughter, nothing compared to his love of music. Whether he was cooking or piddling, he would have the radio on full blast. He would say, “Now, listen to the song and really take it in.” and believed that Appetite for Destruction by Guns N Roses was the “greatest album of all time.” From Prince to Alabama, the genre of music did not matter to him; he wanted to listen to the music for the feeling it created. His musical taste was a reflection of who he was: eclectic. Like his musical taste, he did not conform to any standards or try to please anyone. His character never faltered, and he remained true to who he was. He was Alton Jason May; only one of his kind.

He will be greatly missed by his family and will be fondly remembered by his sons, Quinton (Kaity), Garrett, (Grace), and Vondarious, the mother of his children, Doris Gardner, his mother, Donna Hadaway, his MawMaw, Imogene Woods, his aunt, Jennifer “J.J.” King, his uncle, Danny May, his sister, Amy Holloway (Harry), nephews, Trey and Mason Holloway, his brother, Dusty May, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

He will be greeted by his father, Randy May, his PawPaws, Alton Woods and Hubert May, his MawMaw, Johnny May, his cousin, Tim Barnes, his aunt, Sheryl Lockhart, and cousin, Caitlin Dobbins, and there will be joyous celebration as they are reunited.
