Alton Coons, 98, of Hamilton, Ala., died Wednesday, October 24, 2012. His visitation will be on Friday evening from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Praise Assembly of God, in Hamilton. The funeral service will begin Saturday at 11 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens. Brother Jack Coons and Reverend Jimmie Blair are officiating.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Heda; daughters, Doris Belser and Carolyn Puckett(Robert); son, Allen Coons (Linda); five grandsons; two granddaughters; five great-grandchildren; stepchildren, Cveta Bauers (Terry), Margie Romaine and Steve Zdravkovic (Mary); six step-grandchildren; and six step-great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Minnie Coons; and three brothers; and one sister.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
