Alta Beatrice Turney, 96, of Somerville passed away on February 6, 2017 at her home surrounded by her family and friends.
Funeral service will be Friday, February 10, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Valhermoso Holiness Church with Bro. Tim Patrick officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Turney Family Cemetery in Somerville. Visitation will be Friday, February 10, 2017 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Church.
She was born January 8, 1921, in Morgan County to Alonzo Franklyn Cryer and Susan Rebecca Slater Cryer. Mrs. Turney was happily married to Parish Turney until is death on March 6, 1980.

Mrs. Turney was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two sisters: Blanch Grady and Verdie Bell Garrison and one great granddaughter Adrianna Presto.
Mrs. Turney was rich in love and the important things in life. She enjoyed gardening, her flowers and worshipping with her church family. She was a great example to her family and all that knew her. Her children were blessed to call her “mother”.
She retired June 1, 1987 from Prestolite Company in Decatur, Alabama where she was an assembly technician.
Pallbearers will be Keith Turney, William Jones, Alan Oden, Mitchell Smith, Zackary Smith, John Wesley Turney. Levi Rice and Hunter Smith.
