Almond Lee Sims age 79 of Altoona passed away Sunday at his residence. Funeral Services will be 2:00PM Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at The Albertville Funeral Home Chapel Downtown with burial in Union Grove Baptist Church Cemetery #2 in Blount County with Franklin Cookston and Winston Barnett Officiating. Austin Pankey, Alex Hollingsworth, Cody Buckelew, Jacob Buckelew, George Mann and Donald Mann will serve as Pallbearers. Ayden Pankey will be and Honorary Pallbearer. Visitation will be from 5:00PM until 8:00PM Tuesday at Albertville Funeral Home Downtown. Survivors include 2 sons, Rickey Lee Sims of Tennessee and Terry Lee Sims of Grant. 5-grandchildren and 2-great-grandchildren, Special nephews Randy Buckelew (Dianne) of Altoona and Lynn Buckelew (Cathy), a special niece, Laura Pankey and a host of other nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Alex Sims and mother, Maggie Bradford Sims.
