Alma “Bessie” Petty, 83, departed this earthly life and moved to her heavenly home Nov. 17, 2012. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Thompson and Son Funeral Home, Tuscumbia, Ala. Services will be Noon on Friday at Nazereth Primitive Baptist Church in Barton, Ala., Pastor Gary Roach officiating. Burial to follow in Nazereth Church Cemetery. The body will be placed in the church one hour prior. Thompson and Son Funeral Home, Tuscumbia, directing.
She leaves to cherish her memories a loving and devoted husband, Robert Lee Petty of Barton, Ala.; Seven devoted children, Alma “Jean” (Richard) Garner, Glenn “Bro” Petty, Otis (Dianne) Petty all of Barton, Ala., Wanda Faye Freeman, Terease (Jesse Ray) Freeman, Ray Anthony Petty all of Tuscumbia, Ala., Charlotte Pernell of Killeen, TX.; one sister, Mary Elder; 19 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
