Alice Vivian Loppnow Alice Vivian Loppnow born May 31, 1943, passed away in Huntsville, AL Tuesday, November 29, 2023.
Alice was born in Denver, CO and was the youngest of three children (sister Christa precedes her and
brother Frank lives in Baltimore) to Franz and Elise Huber. The family settled in Baltimore, MD where
Alice would grow up and where she met Robert Loppnow while he was in the Navy in 1964. They
married in 1965 and after Robert’s service in the Navy was completed, they settled in Wisconsin, until
their retirement in 2000 when they moved to Foley, AL. After five years in Foley they moved to Florence,
AL.
Alice not only raised three children but was a teaching assistant at the elementary school, sold Avon as a
sales consultant, owned The Bookshelf bookstore and managed a Christmas tree farm with Robert. Alice
was an avid reader, an artist, wrote poems, active in the HOA and women’s bunko club. With Robert
they traveled to Aruba, Maggie Valley, Las Vegas and many other cities enjoying good food, site seeing,
relaxing and going to the casinos.
Alice is cherished in memory by her husband Robert Loppnow and their three children Kimberly
Loppnow (husband Joseph Lambke), Robert Loppnow (wife Cassandra Nelson-Loppnow) and Kevin
Loppnow.
Alice is also survived by her five grandchildren Brittany and Branden Bogan (Kim’s children) and
Madison, Kendall and Logan Loppnow (Kevin’s children).
Her wishes are to be cremated and no services will be held.
