Alice Nellie Sparks, 76, of Muscle Shoals, Ala., died Tuesday, April 29, 2014, at her residence. She was born March 24, 1938, in Mississippi. She worked at Blue Bell and was a homemaker. She was a member of Grace Life Baptist Church while living in Muscle Shoals and was a member of New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, Belmont, Miss. for most of her life where she taught Sunday school. She was a resident of Allsboro, Ala. for 30 years.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 3, at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, Belmont, Miss., with Brother James Segars and Haskell Sparks officiating. Burial will be in New Bethel Cemetery, Belmont, Miss. Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, Miss., will be in charge of arrangements.
Survivors are her husband of almost 55 years, Harold G. Sparks, of Muscle Shoals, Ala.; three grandchildren, Elizabeth Steles, Emily Steles, and Sarah Steles, all of Muscle Shoals, Ala.; and one brother, Jerry Henley, of Belmont, Miss.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Tulon and Reba Henley, one son, Douglas Ray Sparks, and one daughter, Vicki Sparks Steles.
Pallbearers will be David Henley, Gerald Henley, Jeff Henley, Keith Henley, Donnie Joe Sparks, and Roger Sparks.
Visitation will be 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, May 3, at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, Belmont, Miss.
