Alice Lavina Hayes, age 87, of Lexington went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, October 6, 2016. She was preceded in death by her late husband, J D Hayes, and her parents Priest and Essie Blankenship. Her brothers, Calvin Blankenship, Sydney Blankenship, Leonard Blankenship, Roy Blankenship, and Bill Blankenship and two sisters, Adlay Blaylock and Lona Loftin.
She is survived by her three sons, Larry (Paula) Hayes, Michael (Candy) Hayes of Lexington, and Johnny Hayes (Nat) of Florida. She has nine grandchildren, Jeff Hayes (Jamie) of Lexington, Misty Tremain (Brian) of Florida, April Downey (Matt) of Memphis, Desarai Garner (Bob) of Lexington, Heather Hayes of Lexington, Jaclyn Wood (Shawn) of Lexington, Toshia Crews (Kevin), Tonya Marchbanks, and Clint Dudley (Nicole). She has twelve great grandchildren, Caitlyn, Cody, Colton Hayes, Peyton, Piper, Samuel Tremain, Meadow, Aubrey, Presley Downey, Chloe and Weston Garner, and Drake Williams, and one great-great grandchild, Ava Wood.
She is also survived by three sisters, Nina Crowe of Lexington, Betty Crowe of Lexington, and Ann Jenkins of Memphis and one brother, Cecil Blankenship of Lexington.
Visitation with the family will be Friday, October 7, beginning at 10 AM until 10 PM and Saturday, October 8, 9 AM until time of service. Services will be in the chapel of Pafford Funeral Home beginning at 3 PM with burial to follow in Lexington Cemetery.
