Mrs. Alice Josephine Mehrer age 94 of Morrison, TN, passed away from this life and went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 03, 2023 at her residence. She was born August 27, 1929, in Montclair, New Jersey, and previously resided in Brick, NJ and Hobe Sound, FL. She was a member of the Catholic Church attending at St. Mark’s, and was a retired restaurant owner. She was a member of the American Legion, the VFW, the Eagles, and was a supporter of the Deborah Hospital. Alice loved walking the beach and picking up seashells, enjoyed celebrating happy hour, liked watching horse racing, and treasured time spent with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Petronella Van Groski and her husband William David Mehrer. Survivors include her son John and daughter-in-law Alicia DeCesare, grandchildren Frank DeCesare and Lisa Shepherd and her husband Alan, great grandchildren Paije DeCesare, Kyle Shepherd, and Kaley Shepherd, her special friends Cindy, Carol, Bethany and Lois “L.T.”. her beloved dog Sherrie who kept her company for many years, and a host of many friends.
A heartfelt thanks goes out to the wonderful staff of the hospice care workers and her in-home health companions Carolyn, Jackie, and Sherry; all of whom she also leaves behind. A celebration of life will be held at a later time.
