Mrs. Alice Elizabeth Artz, age 73, of the Sweet Home Community of Guntersville, AL passed away at her home during the early morning hours of Monday, April 15, 2024. Alice was born March 5, 1951 in Ohio. Her parents were Marvin Robert Higdon and Jesse Elizabeth Andrews Higdon. She and her husband, Richard Lee Artz, have been married for over 53 years. She has been a resident of the Sweet Home community since 1985.
Alice was a loving and generous wife, daughter, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She thoroughly loved playing with the young members of her family but never missed the opportunity to visit with the older ones. She was an animal lover and in her younger days spent as much time as possible horseback riding. During her leisure time, and when not involved with family, Alice was either reading, crocheting, or playing solitaire on her computer.
Family members left behind to cherish their memories of Alice include her husband, Richard Artz; her children, Tammi Lee (Allen) Bozzell, Candy Lyn (Jimmy) Dunn, and Eugene Marvin (Treina Moore) Artz; grandchildren, Thomas (Tiffany) Jones, Natashia Bozzell, Brandon ( Jasmine) Bozzell, Hannah Bozzell and Carol Artz; great grandchildren, Dexter Houser, Jr. and Levi Wheat.
Family and friends will gather at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel on Friday, April 19, 2024 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m for visitation to commemorate and share their memories of Alice. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Brother Michael Brogdon and Brother Charles Brown will officiate. Burial will be in Parches Cove at Beech Springs Cemetery. Pallbearers escorting Alice to her final resting place will be Jimmy Dunn, Allen Bozzell, Randall Cooley, Thomas Jones, Brandon Bozzell and Bailey Morrow.
