, 55, of Haleyville, entered into rest on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at ECM Hospital.
Mr. Flake was born on June 3, 1959. Alford worked as an orderly in a nursing home for 10 years. He was Baptist and enjoyed playing washers, horse shoes and spending time with the grandchildren.
Visitation will be on Friday, December 19, 2014 from 12-2pm at Nichols Funeral Home in Haleyville, where services will be held at 2pm. Brother Gary Wakefield will officiate. Burial will follow in Frost Chapel Church Cemetery
Alford is survived by his son, Joseph Wayne Flake; daughters, Elizabeth Irene Edwards, Celia Dianne Lane and a sister, Maxine (Earnest) Cosby. He was “Pawpaw” to 8 grandchildren, Jacob Kent Frost, Katie Lee Jones, Casey LaShae Lane, Damien Michael Wayne Mauldin, Zachary Lee Lane, Clara Dianne Lane, Shawn Michael Lane and Justin Ray Wright.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Clara Lou Hood; parents, Johnny Lee and Clara Mae Flake.
