Alfonzo Romine Sr. – Obituary

AlfanzoFuneral for Mr. Alfonzo Romine Sr., 58, of Somerville will be Friday, March 1, 2013 at 1 p.m. at Mount Mariah United Methodist Church in Valhermoso Springs with the Reverend Kelvin Jones Sr. officiating and burial in Curry Chapel Cemetery. The body will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Reynolds Funeral Home.

Alfonzo Romine Sr., son of the late Robert Lee and Flora Bell Campbell Romine was born on January 1, 1955 in Somerville. His home- going was on February 22, 2013 at his residence.

Alfonzo confessed a hope in Christ at an early age and joined Curry Chapel C.M.E. Church. He later rededicated his life to Christ and attended Mt. Mariah U.M. Church where he was faithful. He was a graduate of Albert P. Brewer High School. He was a retiree of Dunlap Tire and Rubber Corporation. Alfonzo was an all-around sportsman and loved, jogging, running, raising horses, and deer hunting. He was united in holy matrimony to Evelyn M. Goff on July 28, 1978. His brother, Mr. Spencer Lee, preceded him in death.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving, dedicated wife, Evelyn; two sons, Mr. Alfonzo Romine Jr. (Amanda) and Mr. Justin M. Romine, both of Somerville; two grand- children, Ms. Chloe LeAnn Romine and Master Alfonzo Romine III of Somerville; three sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Mae Chatman (Anise) of Columbus, Ohio, Mrs. Ernestine Watkins(Jody) of Detroit, Mich., and Mrs. Gertrude Fletcher (Nathanial) of Decatur; two brothers, Mr. Robert Harold Romine (Bessie) of Valhermoso Springs and Mr. Nelson Romine (Betty) of Columbus, Ohio; four sisters-in-law, Mrs. Durena Stinson (David) of Charleston, S.C., Ms. Dorothy Goff of Somerville, Ms. Barbara Jackson of Madison and Linda Romine of Somerville; a host of loving and devoted nieces and nephews and a multitude of friends and neighbors.
