When I come to the end of my journey and I travel my last weary mile,

Just forget if you can that I ever frowned and remember only my smile.

When I’m gone, forget unkind words I’ve spoken.

Remember some good I’ve done.

Forget that I ever had heartache and remember I’ve had loads of fun.

When I’m gone, forget that I’ve stumbled and sometimes fell along the way.

Remember I fought long and hard each and every day.

After I’m gone, forget to grieve for my going because

I wouldn’t have you sad for a day.

In spring, gather some flowers and remember where I lay.

Then one evening, come when the sun parts the sky in the west and stand

for a few minutes beside me and remember only the best.
