Alex Darren Minick Profile PhotoAlex Darren Minick, age 59 of Smyrna, TN passed away January 30, 2024. He was born in Little Rock, AR. He spent his life involved in gospel music, traveling with his family, The Johnny Minick Family, for eight years as the bass vocalist.  Their family spent a year as the gospel group at Willie Nelson’s Theater in Branson, Missouri each week.  He also served as a sound technician at his brother Johny’s church for many years. He enjoyed writing songs with his dad, and spending time talking about the Bible with him.  He loved his four-legged fur babies, having raised 10 dogs through the years, and fostered 8 senior dogs.  Loved Star Trek, Star Wars and pretty much anything sci-fi.  He was dedicated to taking care of his wife through several years of medical issues.  He absolutely loved Christmas and decorating. He is preceded in death by his mother, Marcy Minick; sister in-law, Sheryl Vanoy. Alex is survived by his wife of 25 years, Carolyn Minick; father, Johnny C. Minick; brother, Johnny D. (Sherry) Minick; sister, Heidi A. (Charlie) Barnes; brothers in-law, Jeff Guthrie and Matt Guthrie; three nephews; two nieces; fifteen great-nieces & great-nephews. Funeral service will be held 1:00PM Thursday, February 8, 2024 with visitation two hours prior to the service at Turning Point Church, 1033 Barfield Church Rd. Murfreesboro, TN 37128. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Murfreesboro. Dr. Johnny D. Minick will officiate. Family and Friends will serve as pallbearers.
