Alene Stewart, 85, died Saturday at ECM Hospital. Mrs. Stewart was born April 1, 1931, in Lawrence County, Tennessee and was a homemaker and a member of Bethel Baptist Church. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Bethel Cemetery, Anderson, with Bill Barlow officiating. Family requests that memorials be made to Bethel Baptist Church.
Mrs. Stewart is survived by husband, Hoyt Stewart, of Lexington; brother, Vernon Hurn, of Decatur; and several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by parents, Robert and Myrtle Hurn; sister, Evelyn Morrison; and brother, Louie Hurn. Spry Funeral Home, Athens, is directing.
